After a great trial run on the CT River last week, this week threw another weather curve ball my way. The CT River was at flood stage and too dangerous to row. So I improvised and found a large lake in the Berkshires, Otis Reservoir, where I rowed 31 miles in 7 hours, besting my 24 miles in 6 hours last week on the river. It turned out to be a beautiful spring day with temps topping out at 60 degrees. In addition to testing the boat, I'm also testing my nutritional strategies and trying to prove that man can live by power bars alone. Not sure about that yet!!! I'm learning that my iPhone and the ability to connect to Spotify and Podcasts will be an important companion during the many hours on the water.
